Globalization Benefits for Asian Economies And Small Businesses

The Boao Forum is a high-level economic forum in Asia that takes place in Boao, a coastal city in Hainan province. This year the theme of the Forum will be "inclusive growth", as 150 representatives meet to discuss how Asian nations could better harness economic globalization benefits. Asian nations are increasingly looking to each other to strengthen economic ties, as rising trade protectionism from western countries is making trade more difficult. As the economic recoveries in the US and Europe are sluggish, those governments are becoming increasingly protectionist towards emerging markets.

They have continually stalled the Doha round of trade talks, which many in developing countries had hoped would lead to lower tariffs. These moves have encouraged Asian nations to implement free-trade strategies in the region in a bid to reduce their reliance on the demand from developed nations.
