A Clean Slate

A Clean Slate

I'll warn you in advance, that this blog is slightly promotional, but still has value.

I re-launched my website this week. AllWrite Ink has a new face, a clean slate, it's a "do over."

I'm excited about the fact that I finally forced myself to make the time to address the branding message I was creating on the Internet. So often we get caught up in taking care of our customers (because our priorities are in the right order) and we neglect our own brand message.

With the help of Tom DeFrank of Better Built, I reassessed my business and more importantly, what my potential customers might be looking for in a writer.

In the past two years my services have expanded, I added a tag line "Words People Read" and have amassed a series of speeches that I offer to Chambers and organizations looking for speakers. None of this was reflected on my old site.

It's still a work in progress, but aren't we all.

So I ask you: when was the last time you took a look at your web presence?

Look at your website from your prospect's perspective. Is it compelling, does it answer a need they have, does it inspire them to take action?

What key words might your prospects use to find you? Are those words in your web content?

We love to look at the pictures and flash animation, but the search engine is only reading the words. Do your words truly represent who and what you are for your customers?

Thanks to Tom for your help in creating my new site!

I like the content but there is too much white, maybe you can darken the outer vertical borders kind of like Bizinformer. This would bring a focus for my eye more toward the content.

    I like your service mark.

An easy way to eliminate a lot of the white spacing is to use a background on the sides. A simple light color change behind the text body will also soften the page even if it’s a slight shade.
