Add a FAVICON to your Blog Image

Is it the 6 Degrees of Separation that says you are only six Steps away from anything you want?
I just love the little journeys the Internet takes you on. Today I was reading my new fav blog, Duct Tape Marketing, by John Jantsch, who led me to a new blog to learn more about this cool thing called a Favicon.
The blog John led me to was Pajama Market who talks about this cool little icon you can add to your blog that will then appear next your blog's name on people's favorite listing.
Essentially, it is a tiny picture that will become associated with your brand just like your logo.
Brian Brown, writer of Pajama Market, walks you through the steps of how to install a Favicon – and frankly – he lost me at hello, but he assures us that it really is simple. I haven't tried it.
So here is my challenge. Will someone please read how to install a favicon to your blog and then drop me a line and on a scale of 1-10 in difficulty – let me know how it was?
By the way: Favicon is also the latest trend in branding – creating a unique word that only you can own. Like BLOG is a combination of web and log, Favicon is a combination of favorite and icon. Don't you just love it!
One of these days, I will have to tell you about a morning I spent with a customer trying to create a unique word.
But for right now – give Favicon a try and then let me know what you think.

Hi Deb. Lost you at hello? Yeah, the hardest part for me is that it can take a few hours for the favicon to start working so you really don’t know if you’ve done it right immediately. I uploaded mine, went to bed, and luckily it appeared in the morning.

Brian,
You lost me – not because of your writing – I love your site – but because I am technically inept. If it requires more than an “on/off” button, I am lost.
Thanks for the heads up on the delay of the favicon showing up. Great tip.
