Brain Storm With Other People's Brains

Read between the lines and find that we are better with others surrounding us.
Same holds true when brain storming for creative ideas within your business.
If it's just you and a thesaurus - you are only able to draw on your own perspective and experiences.
Several months ago I was asked to participate in a "naming" party in which a few hand-selected business women were brought together for the purpose of naming a magazine. Norma Rist facilitated the process in which we started with a major brain dump then culled those words down to a smaller group that we could discuss.
Yesterday I was also asked to participate in a creative brain dump. A company needs a clever name for a new program they are developing.
Imagine the value-add my customer offered to this company; she not only came up with her ideas, but she asked several others to add their ideas. The end result; the company will have a much wider selection of ideas to choose from. They don't know that several people from a variety of backgrounds offered up their two-cents - they just know they have a great long list to choose from.
It's a great way to work together. And it's fun.
Consider partnering up with competitors or other departments the next time you need to brain storm for a creative solution.
Two, three, four heads are better than one. However, do remember that too many cooks spoil the soup
.Ah, what would we do without cliches?
