"Great things are not accomplished by those who yield to trends and fads and popular opinion." - jack kerouac

Diana Ransom of smSmallBiz.com has an excellent article in the online version of the Wall Street Journal. The article is also available at the smSmallBiz.com website. It is an article exploring entrepreneur buzzwords. In fact, it is a definitive guide to entrepreneurial buzzwords.
Are you a Mompreneur (apparently a trademark) or a fempreneur? I like Dadpreneur! The list of entrepreneur buzzwords that Ransom discusses is like a snapshot of the small business economy in the first decade of the twenty-first century.
Personally, I dislike buzzwords. I think it is because buzzwords always tend to accumulate in a fad or trend in the economy that will pass and seem archaic or nostalgic in a few years. The idea of pledging myself for life to the corporate behemoth, like Gregory Peck in The Man in the Grey Flannel Suit, is anathema to me because I am a Dadpreneur. But, my parents, and most of the adults I grew up with, certainly had different ideas. I have this strange fear that my kids will look at my entrepreneurship in this new networked economy in the the same way I view the Gregory Peck character - admirable, but flawed.
