I asked her what she had learned in her first year of being in business and she replied, "The one thing I have learned is to really focus on my spending and watching my cash flow." Boy was that an insightful comment coming from someone with no business background at all.

The fact that she understands this so quickly, shows that she has an excellent chance at success. Many business owners and managers, after many years, still don't have this down, and their businesses suffer as a result.
