Do You Date Your Customers?
My son is going to ask a girl to Homecominglinks tomorrow.

There is always the stress of whether or not she'll say yes, but in today's school environment there is an added stress: HOW you ask. It has to be creative.

Having your invitation on the football score board, different.

So last night he spent hours researching on the web for new and different ways to get her to say yes.

It reminded me of a post John Jantsch wrote not long ago called, Your Advertising Should Be More Like Dating.
He makes a good point, in that so frequently we assume that just because we have a short conversation and offer a business card and brochure that we should expect a new prospect to buy our services/products.

Where is the wooing? You can hardly have time to build trust and the beginnings of a relationship in just a few moments at a networking event or in your marketing mailing or in your newspaper advertisement. It's a slow process - one to be nurtured.

Yet we are so impatient that if a new prospect doesn't immediately jump into business with us, we feel like a failure or move on to other prospects.

In the meantime, keep your fingers crossed for Ben. He has written her a song and painted a shirt that has her name on it with the question on the back:

"Will you go to homecoming with me?"

He plans to wear it all day. Oh man, what if she says no?

Think about a prospect you can ask out on a date!
