e-Marketing Seminar Well Worth The Investment
Filed in archive Marketing by Deborah Brown on May 05, 2007

I wrote the night before of my excitement and anticipation of all I would learn (click here for a quick read) and as I introduced myself to John he said "I read your blog posting."
Amazing.
He used one of the many tools that he spoke about - an RSS feed you can utilized that will notify you every time a particular topic, word, company name is mentioned on the computer. With an RSS feed people can automatically receive information each time to update or write something new. He provided four websites to visit for more information:
Feedburner
Bloglines
Marketingstudies
masternewmedia
There were many tips and tasks to take away but here are two messages that he repeated:
1. Marketing needs to be a habit - not just something you try for a few weeks and then give up - like eating healthy and exercise - marketing needs to become routine and e-marketing is just one more tool in your marketing arsenal.
2. Own your local market on the web. The web is global and we sometimes forget that perhaps a potential customer is seeking to do business with a local entity. In your web content - mention your location - mention is as often as seems natural. But put your locator in your Title Tags and in your Pay-Per-click content. So when someone searches for a Beauty School in Ohio - you are their number one choice.
He challenged us to select one thing from the multitude of ideas to complete by next Friday. I have my marching orders and plan to get cracking right now.
Look in future posts for highlights from the two breakout sessions I attended: SEO content and Buzz Marketing. Both terrific presentations!
