Finally – Office Help By the Project

This past week I had the opportunity to tour the UDS (United Disability Services) office in Akron with lisa Armstrong, Communications Coordinator. UDS offers a variety of services to the community for children and adults with disabilities but Lisa shared an exciting service that is perfect for businesses of all sizes.
Help for those necessary but time consuming tasks, like collating mailings.
Particularly for those of us with a small or non-existent staff: hiring UDS, or a similar organization, by the project is a perfect solution. UDS employs adults with disabilities who joyfully (and I do mean joyfully – they were a delight to meet and talk with) and accurately complete your project freeing your time up for other business building projects.
"Vocational Services focuses on development of appropriate work skills and specific job training for adults age 18 and older through a facility-based work experience. Participants perform jobs in areas such as sub-assembly, collating, packaging, labeling and mailing services for local companies. Workstations are adapted or modified as needed to improve productivity and quality."
I would encourage you to consider a local facility that employs adults with MRDD (Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities) for your next multi-part project. Simply take a few samples of the job into the office, explain the scope and timing of the job and they will let you know the cost and the turn around time.
It is a win-win for everyone. Click here for more information.
