Fortune Small Business Goes Digital

Fortune Small Business Goes Digital

Have you seen this Digital magazine put out by Fortune Small Business?

It is an online, screen viewed magazine. The content is the same as the paper version, you flip the pages like a magazine, see the same ads and the articles just like the paper version.

I don't know if I like it or not. Of course I am enamored with the technology and how Slick it is but I am not a big video monitor reader. I also like the tactile feel of a magazine in my hands and the ability to take it with me wherever I may go.

Check out Fortune Small Business Digital and let me know what you think.

It has some cool features. The search component which brings up a drop down with pages containing your search phrase, along with highlighting the phrase. I do agree that there’s something about being able to flip through a “paper” magazine. There’s something lost here with mimicking the flipping of the pages, seems pointless. Traditional PDFs are easily browsed through and I think most people have gotten the hang of using them. This new “toy” just seems like something new I’d have to get comfortable with, and it just doesn’t seem worth it.
