And most SMBs don't have the time or money to be tracking every worm threat out there. And don't have the expertise to disinfect a system once a worm is in there (if they could even find them. Worms are very good at hiding.)
The company Alert Logic has developed a free worm susceptibility test to help SMBs. Alert Logic is already a leading worm expert (they were the first ones to detect the Zotob worm last year, arguably the most damaging worm in the wild.) And they have developed a worm threat system that includes 7 layers of detection. Most other companies only look at three layers. Worm writers are smarter than that.
Again, this is a free test for SMBs. It costs nothing and should give some piece of mind.

This reminds me of that movie, what was the title, Hot Shot?, where there was that character pretending to be fisherman on a under cover commando boat. He had a warm in his hand trying to put it in hook. He had to straighten it up with his tongue. Disgusting!

In my view, it's not a bad idea to check how susceptible you are. But don't that let give you a false sense of security. Worms can start from a lot of places, including USB memory sticks that can be infected with malicious code.
These tests will help, but should have a large disclaimer on the side of the box saying that an integrated risk management approach is always recommended to minimize the likelihood of losses. No single tool should be relied upon.
