You must take security into account in your planning and decide whether to outsource security, invest in training or allocate more resources.
Example: An easy to exploit hole has been announced in Apple's quicktime player. The key to this exploit is that roughly 50% of all PCs have QuickTime installed and also, Windows users cannot download the patch!
