How Healthy is Your Company?
Just came from a wonderful chamber lunch in Twinsburg, Ohio. The theme was healthy self, healthy company and there were five panelists that spoke to different aspects of health and how healthy employees will actually drive money to your bottom line:

- Higher employee morale
- Fewer sick days
- Reduced stress levels
- Fewer worker's comp claims

Here is a frightening statistic: 34% of Americans are obese. Not over weight - obese. Obesity leads to early death.

One of the speakers had a great quote, he said "One of the first signs of heart disease is death, so if you are waiting for a warning sign, you're waiting too long."

How true.

Do you offer wellness plans for your employees:

- Fitness plans - walking at lunch, Pilates on site, etc.
- On-site Weight Watcher meetings
- Vision plans
- On-site chair massage (reduces stress and neck pain for those on computers all day)
- Encourage time off for regular wellness exams, mammograms, flu shots, etc.

There are lots of simple, inexpensive ways you can show you care about your employees' health. The good news is, by offering pro-active health plans you increase morale, productivity, cognitive thinking and reduce sick days and worker's comp.

Wow - sounds like a win-win.
