Interviews: The Next Generation
Norma Rist, president of Norma J. Rist, CEO Consulting, Inc. just forwarded me an article entitled Reinventing the Media Interview.

The gist is that blogging and the Internet are changing the face of media interviews with many refusing to speak with reporters and preferring the HARD COPY benefits of email. Send me your questions and I'll email you a response. This gives the one being interviewed the opportunity to ensure they are quoted correctly and can even blog about the interview, thus expanding the reach of their moment in the spotlight.

And it got me to thinking: Courteney Cox (former star of Friends) was on Regis and Kelly Live this morning (I was taking a coffee break, okay?) and she and her husband developed a new show on FX called Dirt. It is a behind the scenes look at the paparazzi.

Has blogging, YouTube, cellphone cameras and the Internet impacted their business?

Do we dare hope that those in the spotlight are having the opportunity to take back control from the scam reporters and photographers by requiring interviews be conducted by email?

Can you imagine a future where what we read is the complete factual story?
