Is Blogging a Chore?

Is Blogging a Chore?

If you are reading this, chances are you have blogged at one time or another – perhaps just the occasional comment on someone else's blog or maybe you are a veteran poster.

Question – would you consider blogging to be a chore?

In today's Akron Beacon Journal, there was a great article by journalist Sarah Filus – all about small businesses effectively using blogs to create a presence on the Web. Check it out.

She offers informative links to websites that host blogs and interviewed several business owners using blogs to promote their business. But in her title, she refers to blogs as a new chore for business owners.

Maybe it is because I love to write, I have ever since we'd get those spelling words in 3rd grade and I'd use them in a story instead of the simple sentences required of us, but blogging to me is a pleasure.

What do you think? Is blogging just one more chore in the long list of responsibilities you have in your business or do you find it an enjoyable way to reach out to others and share news, trends and opinions?

    I use blogging to help scan the marketplace for ideas and people who are interested in the same issues as I am; by its nature it is unstructured, and so I “discover” issues and poeople I would never have explicitly “searched for”;
