Is Your Life Out of Focus?

How do you break free?
"Time" from Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon is playing in the background as I write this and it reminds me how quickly time passes. We can't afford to trend water for too long or the world will pass us by.
So how do you regain your focus?
I bribe myself. I'm a big list maker, so I write down everything I have to do and then add everything I want to do. I love the feeling of checking off a successfully completed task. So as I work my way down the "haves" and "wants" I reward
myself each step of the way. The first step can be sluggish, but then I hit the reward. Ooh, that felt good. Maybe it's a break to read the latest Fortune Magazine. Now I'm refreshed and better informed. Maybe it's singing as loud as I can along with a favorite CD.Pretty soon you gain momentum. Maybe a reward is talking to a friend who unwittingly provides just the fresh perspective and encouragement you need to rekindle your creative thinking.
Lost your focus? We all do from time to time.
Allow yourself the time to write down your goals, set up a reward system and then begin one tiny step at a time. Pretty soon you are back on track and your vision is crystal clear.
