It’s Time For An Annual Check-Up

It's Time For An Annual Check-Up

So often in business we meet with other, either in person, on the phone or on-line. We discuss projects, plans and proposals.

But have you had a meeting with YOURSELF?

Perhaps it's time to grab a snack or cup of coffee and sit down to an annual check-up with just you. How are you doing compared to your goals? Are you on track? What stumbling blocks are in your way? What new things do you want to try? What do you need to get there?

The first quarter has ended and rather than wait until the end of the year when there isn't anything you can do – consider having a heart-to-heart with yourself to see if your business is on track.

In a recent edition of Entrepreneur Magazine, they offer up four ideas to consider while you are munching on your cookies and milk:

1. Rededicate yourself to the value and power of new ideas.
2. Focus on your unique ability to improve your customers' lives.
3. Create new product extensions and variations that relate to what you've learned.
4. Experiment with an execution strategy that differs from your normal business routine.

We know we should do this, but why don’t we ever get around to it?? I know hundreds of small business owners who wish they had the time for this — they just come up empty year after year… (perhaps the subject of another post?)
