John Jantsch Just Made Me JUMP Out of My Comfort Zone
Filed in archive Networking by Deborah Brown on June 25, 2007

This is my face on Facebook.
This is a face that has no clue.
Okay, I just wrote that I've dipped my toe into LinkedIn - the professional social networking arena. Barely up to my knees in the pool of connections. And then my friend Ivana Taylor - new blogger - more about her later - told me to check out John's latest undertaking:
Setting up a FACEBOOK network for Duct Tape marketers.
Only John could take us timid baby boomers to the land of college students and giggling 20-somethings.
Only John could help us see the value of embracing a social network known for it's bar hopping mentality and turn it into a respected channel for sharing business ideas.
Here is the power of John. He wrote the post on Friday and already 180 people have jumped on the bandwagon.
Read the comments - these are not people going calmly into that dark, grey night.
These are 40 and 50-somethings saying "okay, John NOW WHAT?"
Me, too.
I've jumped, John.
Facebook which makes you tell your age and your marital status (one of which is "too complicated to explain") and your sexual preference and your personal hobbies.
Who has time for personal hobbies? You thought I was going to say "sex" didn't you?
My heart goes out to John. He opened the door to his home and in come RUNNING AT FULL TILT a group of people that have no clue. It might be like herding kittens.
Perhaps that is a gross understatement, but I for one, am looking forward to what John will bring together on Facebook.
Jump on the bandwagon - set up your account and then join Duct Tape Marketers network.
