Lesson from a Classic

While eating lunch a minute ago, I was watching the beginnings of a classic movie, Peyton Place based on a novel by Grace Metalious. The movie, made in 1957 starring Oscar nominated actress Lana Turner, tells the story of life in a small town.
At the opening of the movie a long respected, seasoned female teacher is passed over for a promotion to principal in deference to a young, single man. Two of the young students comment that the teacher deserved that promotion and the teacher replies:
"In life you don't always get what you deserve. If there is anything in life you want you have to go out and get it."
How true.
You don't get anything you want by sitting home and day dreaming about it. You have to take action. One baby step at a time. You have to speak up and let your voice and desires be heard.
What is it that you want?
What have you done TODAY to make it happen?
