Marketing Secrets Revealed

Marketing_Secrets.jpg

I just got home from a day-long trip to 64 emails. Not bad considering 62 were spam. Not really but close. One was from an author friend, Ron Finklestein letting me know that the marketing book I participated in was featured in the Akron Beacon Journal. Cool.

I don't get the local paper and so I quickly read through the link he sent for the on-line version. Nice picture of Ron, nice article about the book.

I then clicked on a corresponding link entitled Local Businesses Share Marketing Tips and there is a nice recap of a couple of the chapters which were written by area business owners, managers and sales people. I click over to page two of the on-line article and…

Wait for it…

MY NAME IS IN THE PAPER. Not only my name, but a little paragraph about my chapter AND they spelled my name right.

Quick – must have a copy. It's 8:30 at night. I race to the grocery store – out, drug store – out, bookstore – closed.

I find an old fashioned newspaper machine on the street – there it is. I pull over, put in my 50 cents and the only copy left is a ratty one in the window. Beggars can't be choosers.

Must – have – more.

Now how silly is that? I have an on-line version. As I sift through my email I discover I even have a PDF of the article. But some childlike voice cries out – must have the original, many, many copies.

Got to get a life – I holler back, but on I search for more machines.

I am now the proud owner of 4 copies.

I gotta ask you – when you are in the paper, do you do the same thing? PLEASE tell me I'm not crazy.

Anyway, does this qualify as TMI?

Check out the book, 49 Marketing Secrets that work To Grow Sales. The info in the book is just so exciting – you'll want to run around town seeking out a copy for your office.

You can even listen to me read my chapter. Don't you just love Audacity?

Don’t fret, I’m right there with you. In fact, since I’ve just launched my blog, I decided to do a google search on my name – and just seeing all the actual valid entries attached to my name that ran more than 2 google pages sent my heart aflutter. How sorry is that?
