News Flash: Democrats Create Jobs Twice as Fast as Republicans

As news of the somewhat improved jobs picture creates some small dregree of hope that the economy may really be improving, I came across this enlighting piece of historical perspective on jobs creation from Blue Virginia.

This factoid should be repeated a million times until everyone has heard it and fully absorbed it: “since 1959, the average private sector job growth under four-year Democratic administrations is 11.7%. Under Republican administrations, it’s 5.4%.” That’s right, private sector job growth has been more than twice as fast under Democratic than Republican administrations since 1959.

Time will tell if teh Obama Administration will be able to continue that statistical trend and succeed at job creation.
