What is your favorite career, business, or finance book? What would you recommend to someone?

800ceoread.com is running a reader's poll to determine the 100 business books of all time. When I took a look there were some venerable favorites such as The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People (Covey), How to Win Friends and Influence People (Carnegie), and the Effective Executive (Drucker), in the top ten. Some books I dislike were on the list such as anything by Ayn Rand (#58? How?). And, some should be higher up the list such as The Dilbert Principle (Adams) and Barbarians at the Gate (Burrough and Heylar).

Sarah Cords at libraryjournal.com has written a brief overview of some of the trends in business writing in 2007 with an excellent bibliography. There are a number of books listed there to line up for your summer reading – most of them are not listed in the poll.

Any suggestions for a good book?
