Regret, Failure And Clint Black – 3 Things That Somehow Join To Make A Lesson In Success

Regret, Failure And Clint Black - 3 Things That Somehow Join To Make A Lesson In Success

I was recently asked what I believed to be my biggest failure in my professional life and what I'd do different were I to get another chance. What would I do again if I could go back in time and change something to advert a mistake or head off certain disaster?

Execute faster.

Without doubt, the thing I regret most throughout my career is not executing faster. The thing is, this isn't a failure regret, it's equally as painful with you're talking about great success.

There's a song that plays over and again in my mind by Clint Black. If you're not a country music fan, it doesn't matter. The line in the song that's hard for me to forget is this…. If we'd known ten years ago today would be ten years from now. The song is No Time To Kill.

The point is there is much to gain by moving faster…not foolishly…just faster. Do your homework, surround yourself with great people, make decisions, have systems in place to keep yourself safe, and move.
