Taxes…

The United States has a system of taxation by confession. -Hugo Black

I thought it was time for the obligatory "it is almost tax time" post.

The IRS has a page of tax tips that is really quite good. In fact, I have to admit, the entire IRS website is very good. The site has a list of forms, contact numbers, helpful advice, and some online filing assistance. The best part is that it is a free resource. A few years back, I was using a popular soft cover tax guide from a large tax preparer and found that everything in that guide was a reprint of IRS pamphlets. Those pamphlets are available online for free.

John riddle at work.com has assembled a list of resources in a handy little how-to guide. The post is a quick read and gave me the idea of looking online for e-books about tax deduction and tax issues. A source that I had not thought of before. A quick search of "taxes" on ebooks.com brought up a great list of resources available for immediate download.
