Taxes: A Big Picture
Get Rich Slowly had an interesting post recently that presented the big picture of the US tax situation.
The article puts corporate income tax in its context in the larger revenue picture for the Federal government. According to the blog post, 9.5% of Federal revenue comes from corporate income tax. That's $221 billion collected last year.
In contrast, 85% of federal revenue comes from personal income tax or from social security receipts. Of course, business pay much of that social security revenue in, as well.
