To Link or Not to Link

Paul Mycroft invited me to be in his LinkedIn today.
It wasn't the first time. He invited me a while back and so has My Brother and a customer and an ex-associate from my prior life and I've never joined.
I mean, WHY?
No, seriously. Why?
I have another friend who is part of the MyBlogLog. It's cute. You add your picture and then when you visit someone your picture shows up on their site.
Well, maybe I don't want people to know where I go in cyberspace.
So tell me.
Are you part of one of these communities?
WHY?

Professional Writer, Okay, I'll confess – I joined LinkedIn and MyBlogLog
Now what?

LinkedIn is a great way to connect via networking with your former coworkers, associates, friends from college. “It’s a small world” is so true when you get a few links going and recognize a 3rd level as someone you worked with 15 years ago. Point is in this world of “virtual companies” you have instant access to your rolodex now and don’t have to go crazy racking your brain for the name of that guy who would have been perfect to bring in on this project. Two clicks and an email later, you’ve got them.
MyBlogLog I’m not as well equipped to explain. I’m still trying to figure out why I like it, but I do.
