Too Stubborn to Ask For Help?

I am in the process of de-cluttering my home in anticipation of putting it on the market. I'm reading a book called Home Staging, The Winning Way to Sell Your House for More Money. It talks about removing 25% of your belongings in each room.
That process requires lifting and carrying heavy furniture – in my case – 13 bookcases were emptied and removed this weekend.
I was going to do it alone. I am woman, hear me Roar, right? I don't welcome help from others, at home or at work, I figure they are busy doing their thing, I can handle pretty much anything that comes my way.
Consequently, I get into trouble. In business, the greatest leaders have not been those who did everything themselves. Quite to the contrary, great leaders surround themselves with talented individuals who can effectively carry-out their vision.
We may think we can do it alone – but why put that stress on ourselves? There are colleagues, friends and family members who are willing to offer advice and help. Some times we are just too close to the situation and by bringing in another person; new opportunities are suddenly illuminated.
What challenge are you working on today that could benefit from a second pair of eyes? Pick up the phone and call someone to help. Chances are the task will become lighter and will be completed quicker.
