Want Crisp, Compelling Writing?

Want Crisp, Compelling Writing?

Roy Peter Clark over at Poyntor Online has compiled a listing of 50 articles – each focused on a different aspect of writing.

Content is the new treasure and everyone is looking for ways to make their writing more interesting. Here are just a few of the articles you'll find at Fifty Tools which can help you in writing:

Writing with active verbs – when there is a choice, choose a verb that will help paint the appropriate picture – action verbs help engage the reader

Tune Your voice – you should find your true spirit in the way in which you write – especially when crafting internal communications for employees

Writing process – the mere fact that there is a process is important to be aware of

You may feel the writing tips are more for those writing the Great American Novel, but the principals are the same for crafting a proposal, an annual report or a marketing email. There needs to be a beginning, middle and an end with a call to action somewhere between "Dear" and "Sincerely."

See what you think.
